"I must say it's good to be able to speak with you eye-to-eye without the need to sit on your shoulder," He joked, taking off his top hat and bowing to her again. Suddenly, Haru began to rapidly shrink, causing Baron to jump off her shoulder and wait until she was reduced down to his size. "It certainly does," Baron agreed, stealing a glance towards the girl. "Wow, this brings back memories," Haru sighed. Baron hopped onto her shoulder and directed her to where the pack of cats had taken her the first time. With that, he walked out, with Haru squeezing herself out again to follow. "Well, since Lune is King now, that isn't a problem is it?" We'll have to return to the Cat Kingdom though," "Why on earth why would you want to be small again? You worked so hard to return to your original size,"īaron scratched his chin thoughtfully then sighed. "Ne, Baron? Is there any way I could be small again for a little while?" Haru nodded and began twiddling her thumbs. I did say it would never taste the same more than once," Baron replied as he sat on one of the couches. "Still as great as ever, but the taste is different," "Arigatou," She smiled and drained the cup in one sip. Baron handed her a cup of tea, which was tiny to her, with a cat-like smile. Haru happily complied as she squeezed herself through the miniscule door and sat down wherever there was space. Trying to regain his composure, he bowed. Gigantic compared to himself of course, but it was still magnificent to see her innocent, smiling face. "H-Haru?" He whispered to himself, grabbing his cloak, top hat and cane as he hurried to the door and opened it. She crouched down and knocked on the tiny door. Haru shook her head and looked at the building where it all began. The two meandered out of the archway, trying to not look suspicious and failing. "Baron will be ever so pleased to see you," Toto grinned knowingly and nodded to Muta, who didn't need another hint. "It's nice to see you, Toto! You look well," Haru smiled widely, stroking the smiling birds feathers. "Haru! My, my! What a lovely surprise!" The crow cawed happily as he flew down to her. At the top of the pillar in the middle of the little area, sat Toto the crow. She clambered over the rooftops and ledges until she finally took the path down to the little archway into the area of tiny buildings. This was when all of it had begun for her.
The path was nostalgic for Haru but it made her feel warm inside. Muta nodded and lazily pushed himself off the chair, plodding off in his usual direction with Haru behind him. "Say Muta? Could you take me to the office again?" "Stupid girl, of course he does! He's crazy about you, you were just a bit too dense to realise it when we were in Cat Kingdom," "Hey now! I couldn't just leave everything behi-Wait, he likes me?!" The poor guy fell head over heels for you and then you had to return to the way you were," Muta snorted. This didn't sound like the suave and kind Baron she had grown accustomed to.
He's even forgetting to take his top hat out with him," "All he does is mope now that our little escapade is over. "Oh? What's the matter with him?" She asked as she took the seat next to him. "I'm fine, so is Toto, sadly, but Baron 'aint too great," Muta grunted. "How are you? And Toto? And⁚nd Baron?" She asked, blushing slightly when she mentioned Baron. Haru laughed and released him, scratching him behind the ears. "Owwww! Hey, hey! Enough! You're gonna crush me!" The cat hissed. "Muta!" The girl cried happily as she hugged the rather portly cat with a smile. On the way back she saw that familiar lump of white fur on one of the chairs at the Crossroads. However, as always, things weren't quite that simple.
Haru walked out of the movie theatre and parted ways with her friend since Tsuge was just that much more important.
