These are really the only problems that I have noticed with ToTT’s gameplay. Apparently, the game can’t handle so many objects on the same screen at once. In fact, I have noticed this a lot on my farm when my animals are outside. This can be very frustrating, because you can lose all of your progress within the day.Įven if you don’t encounter the game completely freezing, you will most likely notice that the game lags. If you pet animals for multiple days in a row without exiting the game in between, you will encounter a glitch where the game freezes and has to shut off. Even though this is a fun addition, it turns out to be the cause of a very annoying glitch within the game. There is a feature added to raising animals where you can pet an animal (with your stylus) to raise their friendship level. The farming in this game is fairly solid. The mountain is the foraging area in the game, where the player can collect fruits and other edibles, as well as other useful items. Fall might be my favorite season just because of the vibrant red, oranges, and yellows in the trees. With a mountain situated in between the towns, there are some great, lush areas to explore, and they are beautiful in every season. ToTT is an incredibly visually pleasing game. Throughout the game, the player will try to mend the relationship between the two towns (well, mostly between the leaders of the two towns). The player gets to choose which town he or she would like to live in, with one town specializing in raising animals and the other in raising crops. In this game, the most notable feature is that there are two rivaling towns situated near each other. Next, I will talk about The Tale of Two Towns.
For some it may get repetitive, but I find it fun and rewarding. This is actually a good thing- when I play a Harvest Moon game, I essentially want the same kind of simple farming game with some nice interactions with other townspeople thrown in. Every week, I would look forward to setting up my shop at the bazaar and making the most money out of anyone else from my town.īesides the nice scenery in the game, nothing else was particularly noticeable about GB. As simple as this may sound, it was actually a very exciting part of the game. The main feature of GB is the mechanic of the bazaar, or the market in which members of your town (including you) set up stands and sell your wares to the city folk. Since the Grand Bazaar was released the earliest of the three, I will start with that one. I will make some comparisons between the three games (doing my best with A New Beginning since I just got it last night) so that you can decide which Harvest Moon game might be right for you. Since I also played Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar, I’ve had a chance to mentally compare the last three Harvest Moon games released on the DS/3DS handheld Nintendo systems. I also just started playing the new game, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning on the 3DS, so I have plenty of Harvest Moon goodness to go around. My boyfriend got the game for me when it came out, and I’ve only fairly recently started playing it extensively. The Tale of Two Towns was a Harvest Moon game on the 3DS that was released in 2011.
You can also build relationships with other people in your town. Something that all of the Harvest Moon games have in common is that you can tend your own crops, raise your own animals, and sell the products that you reap for a profit. What is Harvest Moon exactly? It is one of my favorite video game series, and is essentially a farm simulation as well as an RPG.
